The Dissonance Workshop:
Live Performance and Generative Friction with AI
NordiCHI Workshop Saturday 3rd October
NordiCHI Workshop Saturday 3rd October
We invite researchers, designers, artists, performers, and creative practitioners to join a full-day workshop exploring the frictions and tensions of working with generative AI in creative and performance contexts.
To apply, submit a
position paper of 2–4 pages (ACM Extended Abstract format) to workshop.dissonance@gmail.com. Submissions should address one or more of the following:
Experiences of working with generative AI in creative or performance contexts, including moments of friction, surprise, or loss of control; reflections on dissonance in practice or research, across conceptual, embodied, or collaborative dimensions; or a proposal for a short performance, demonstration, or creative exercise to develop during the workshop, including the generative tools involved.
We also encourage alternative formats, such as videos, pictorials, or sound pieces, accompanied by a brief rationale.
Submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis.
Accepted papers will be shared on the workshop website. At least one author of each accepted submission must attend the workshop.
